The Truth About Humility



Humility is a strength and not a weakness. Only those confident and comfortable in their own skin can be humble enough to keep learning, admit weakness and wrong doing and give space for real progress. Humility is an understanding that everyone has something to teach me and I am going to watch and listen for the lessons, because "I don't know it all." Humility means that I am a work in progress. Humility takes courage to face our own crap and do something about it.

Humility is a skill we can attain. Humility is not weakness, but a strength of character and provides space for being teachable, slow to anger and is a sign of emotional maturity. Now, we know from experience Humility can be tough to maintain, as Ben Franklin wrote in his autobiography “Even if I could conceive that I had completely overcome it (pride), I should probably be proud of my humility." We recommend that you keep in mind your goals of personal development and improved relationships to remind you to just keep making progress.
