Gratitude and all that Crap
Gratitude Overview
What we focus on, we feel. Therefore, we recommend you focus on the good things. Gratitude and appreciation go a long ways towards building a pleasing disposition. Gratitude is a habit and a mindset. With some practice, you can be a person that focuses on the positives and looks for that silver lining. We don't mean you should ignore the problems. We just know from 20 years of marriage and running a family therapy clinic, grateful people are in a much better state of mind to handle any problems that come their way.
Five Minutes to Happy
Gratitude and appreciation are great ways to change your state of mind. When we focus on the blessings, even when difficult to find, we feel happy. It is not your circumstances, but what we pay attention to that determines our experience. With a simple Gratitude practice, you can quickly change your state, change your relationship and change your world.
The Power of Appreciation
Appreciation is the action we take from a state of gratitude. Appreciation is a sign that we pay attention to others. It means they are important, and we want them to know it. Through conversation and experiment, find the best ways to show your partner you appreciate them. The act of appreciation could be some kind words, flowers, holding their hand or a note of thanks. If you keep appreciating, they'll keep doing the things you appreciate.
